‘Sparkle’ is a collection of Intergenerational Community Centres based in South-West London. Our mission is to be a community where relationships can ‘spark’ and bring light and joy to the young and old.

Sparkle runs 10:30am - 2:30pm at the following locations:

St Stephen’s East Putney: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Manfred Road SW15 2RS

St Michael’s Wandsworth Common: Wednesdays
Cobham Close SW11 6SP

St John The Divine Earlsfield: Wednesdays
Garratt Lane SW18 4EH

Holy Trinity Roehampton: Tuesdays
Ponsonby Road SW15 4LA

Local older members (our ‘Grandfriends’) spend the day dipping into intergenerational sessions with local nursery and school children. The activities can include reading, singing, craft, gardening and games, plus regular guest speakers and performers - every week is different! We also offer also seated exercise and a nutritious warm lunch for the adults.

We welcome any older person to join us. There is no charge to come to Sparkle and members can come regularly or ad-hoc, for the full session or just an hour or two. Pre-registration is required: email hello@sparkletogether.org, call 0208 8773 003, or fill in the form below.

We also run summer sessions in the school holidays where local children are welcome to join us (with their parents/carers) for some intergenerational fun. Pre-registration is required so please contact us on the form below or register here.

Why intergenerational?

Intergenerational work is a ‘win-win’ for everyone. There are benefits for older people, such as tackling loneliness and isolation to improving health and well-being, and big benefits for younger people too in terms of building confidence and empathy, developing communication skills and even reducing ageism. In times gone by, intergenerational relationships would have been commonplace but in today’s society, the generations are increasingly segregated. Sparkle aims to bridge that divide and create a community where intergenerational relationships can flourish.
