Beyond the Story is a Christian schools work and Children’s ministry project based in Wandsworth, partnering with both churches and primary schools.
Our aim is to go beyond the story through creative, interactive workshops which help children explore the Christian faith and think about how Bible stories connect with everyday life.
We also work alongside local churches to support them in engaging with schools and young families in their communities in creative and sustainable ways.
Schools
Our workshops are designed to support schools in their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC), while creating space for reflection, imagination and fun.
They take key themes from the RE curriculum and help children explore big ideas, ask questions, and engage with Bible stories in accessible and meaningful ways
Our workshops are free of charge, and we’re always happy to shape new sessions to suit your school’s needs. If there’s a theme or topic you’d love to explore that we don’t currently offer, please get in touch — we’d love to see what we can create together.
Churches
We are passionate about equipping churches to connect with their local schools and communities in simple, creative, and sustainable ways.
This includes supporting schools work partnerships, creative workshops, and pre-school ministry such as Puppet Church — a fun and engaging midweek worship time for pre-schoolers and their grown-ups.
