What happens during a Sunday service?

A Sunday service usually looks like this:

  • Welcome

  • Worship

  • Peace

  • Bible reading

  • Talk

  • Prayer

  • Worship

  • Notices

We might do things in a slightly different order when you come, but these sections will usually all be included.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at St Michael’s. Feel free to come dressed in whatever you feel most comfortable, whether that’s your pyjamas or a three piece suit!

What happens during the peace?

The peace is a time during our service where we greet each other. Usually people like to say “peace be with you” to one another. It’s simply a time to stop and say hello, it usually lasts 5-10 mins.

Can I take communion?

We welcome all to take communion. Please feel free to receive bread and wine, or just a blessing. If you would like a blessing, just keep your hands by your side.

How does the collection work?

We send a few collection bags around on a Sunday to give our congregation the opportunity to help the church financially. If you are new, please don’t feel any pressure to give. If you would like to give but don’t have cash, please see the other ways you can give on our giving page.
