Starting nursery

Starting nursery is a big step for both children and parents! Some children settle very quickly while others take much longer. Each child is an individual and we try to treat them as such. What works for one may not work for another, so do try to be patient and don't try to rush your child.

It is helpful to make a visit to the nursery with your child before the starting date. Once your child starts at the nursery, if you think your child can't cope with being left for a whole session, try a short time and increase it on your next visit. The staff are used to dealing with new children, so do ask their advice.

Children generally begin by attending two or three sessions per week. If the child settles happily and if we have space we may be able to increase the number of sessions. Children aged three and over may have the opportunity to do a full day. If so your child will need to bring in a packed lunch.

We are a small, friendly caring nursery. Most of the staff have children who have attended Little Fingers Nursery. There is off street parking for easy delivery and collecting of children, sole use of a secure outdoor play area and a large hall for wet play.

Children are admitted throughout the year.
